Galloway SangStreams 4th & 5th October

Sep 26, 2024

Kate Howard sends along this effervescent pitch for a reprise of a wonderful series of concerts put on this past spring.

Hi lovely community.

If you missed the shows we did way back in May,  then you’re in luck now.   We’re about to showcase them again! It’s really hard to explain what the concert concept is… Songs about our region expressing lives and a way of life that has gone by, Songs about our lives now and what a precious yet fragile ecosystem we belong to.

Newly commissioned songs written and performed by Emily Smith and Jamie Mclennan. Environmental sound scapes from Moniaive and beyond. Our fantastic in house band. Stunning photographs from the archive of Alyne Jones curated by Kara Millen.

So much to come and see, and all of this expertly woven together with new poetry by Hugh McMillan

Get your tickets folks. Available online and on the door and please share.

After our sell-out concerts in May, this series of October concerts is likely to be the last  chance to catch Cairn Chorus and friends in our moving, multi-media performance.

May audience comments:
“Wonderful original pieces, beautifully sung. Well balanced sound of choir and orchestra. Great variation of choir/soloists/poems and visuals. Excellent performance. I liked the plant music very much too!”

“Loved it from start to finish. Loved the photos behind the choir. Loved the spoken word set to music. And hearing Emily and Jamie along with the choir.”
