We aim to present details of announcements or information relayed during our rehearsals, here in our friendly SongWave Blog, so that choir members who may have missed the particulars can catch up with everybody else.
Annie Horsley announced a delightful invitation from Threave Gardens to SongWave Choir to sing at their annual Show on the 5th of May. It seems that this event, which will likely comprise some four numbers especially about trees, for about 20 minutes, could be a great opportunity to begin to polish our performance capacity. More details as they are consolidated, but Annie warns us that parking on the day will be limited, so that car-pooling will be desirable.
Peter from Moffat, who sits in the back row of the basses, confided to us that Karine Polwart, two of whose songs we’re likely to be singing at our Summer Solstice events, will be in concert at Easterbrook in Dumfries on the 26th of April. In this solo tour, called Feather & Ether, she promises a package of new material and much-beloved songs from her back catalogue.
And since we’re chatting about dates, just now, do note that the additional week of rehearsals to make up for the missed one earlier this term, will be on the 1st of April, but we’re off on the 8th before re-commencing again on the 15th.
